PhD School

This EURO PhD School is organized by the EURO Working Group on Operational Research in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics and Medicine (EWG-CBBM). The goal of EURO Working Group on the Operational Research in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics and Medicine (EWG CBBM) is to promote and to facilitate communication links among European (and other) researchers working in areas of operational research in computational biology, bioinformatics and medicine. In addition, with this PhD School aims to foster a better understanding of concepts, models and solution algorithms used in important problems of computational biology, bioinformatics and medicine under the umbrella of EURO in close collaboration with all its partners and co-organizing institutions.

Application

To apply to the EURO PhD School, candidates should submit their curriculum vitae (including their academic track record), a letter outlining their motivation to attend, and a letter of recommendation from their supervisor to the Scientific Committee of the EPS. The Scientific Committee selects and ranks (in the case of more than one accepted from the same country) the candidates.

All accepted students from countries associated with EURO will receive scholarship to cover majority of their expenses. Travel support would be possible for a very limited number of participants. The participants are expected to cover 350 Eur for their accommodation and meals.

Program

The scientific program of EURO PhD School on CBBM includes lectures that are delivered by prominent researchers on their subjects of expertise, hands-on workshops on the methods and tools used in computational biology, bioinformatics and medicine, field trips and also research presentations by participants. detailed program will be announced

Publication

Papers presented by students will be reviewed and published in a Special Issue of CJOR.

Accommodation

The EURO PhD School will take place at Koc University, Istanbul. Dorm rooms (single or double) will be available for participants.
